Yesterday, I was challenged by by Dale Rogerson to write about “love in 10 lines” (the challenge and her own contribution are here). The challenge required that I use only 10 lines, that each line could only have four words, and each line had to itself contain the word love. My response to the challenge follows but instead of specifically challenging individuals to do the same, my challenge is to any and all of my readers who want to participate: post it on your own blog, write it on a tissue and place it on your lover’s pillow, or write it in a comment below ….
Love in 10 Lines …
In Love, I’m lost
Mapped, love is home
In love beats rhythm
Love’s separation is divorce
Love marries our futures
Failures past, love embraces
Forgetting food, love feeds
Love is remembering raindrops
Love bursts butterflies endless
In Love, I’m found.
The challenge also required that I/you share a quote about love. Mine is from one of my favourite love songs by the Indigo Girls, “Power of Two.”
Adding up the total of a love that’s true
Multiply life by the Power Of Two
~ “Power of Two” by the Indigo Girls

As always, you rise to the occasion and share a part of your heart and soul here through your thoughtful and artful words, and inspire.
Thanks Dale & Dale for sharing a great challenge to reflect on a very huge and wonderful topic in brief. I’m in! 🙂

Thank you Jessica. You’re too kind. My heart takes inspiration from those around me and from a life lived … from its sorrow and pain and from the discovery of what true love feels like when found. Putting the words down is easy when my fingers are connected with my heart. 🙂
Looking forward to reading what you contribute yourself. Thanks for taking up the challenge.

I’ve been going nuts for the past two hours. My phone keeps popping me out from commenting here! Sheesh!
What a most beautiful poem you’ve written, Dale. I am awed.

Thank you Dale. I like these challenges — they create a fertile ground for inspiration and help us to see and give voice to the world in a new way. Thank you again for sharing the challenge with me and your very kind words. I’m glad it resonated. 🙂
