Water rushes at my back
Pressing grains through the glass
Tides pull at my youth
Washing memory from my eyes
A basin of sea laps the sand
An ocean of love carves this earth
Streams score the dunes
My red life returns
I am an island resting upon your breasts
Crimson melting into azure
Eons ebbing into seconds short
Baptized by your tongue
Time will wash away my silt
An accumulation of nothing disappears
Till love is all that remains
My lodestone upon your iron shore.

My goodness! So evocative and exotic. I love this! Each line uncovers a treasure of thoughts, images, emotions. Thank you!

Thank you Mattie. I felt very good about this particular piece and loved the play of personification and imagery with emotion. You grace me with you very kind words and that they moved you to images and feelings yourself. Thank you so much!
