Our paths are a checkerboard
Contrasting squares upon a string
Wishing choices through the unseen
Travelled alleys filled of yes or no
Stepping upon the burnished bright
Stepping over the unknown night
Feeling sure where a path is untred
Slipping fast where others have tread.
Look up upon the stuccoed sky
Stretch through the grates with yearning eye
Walk in shadows of coloured walls
Follow a trail of yesterday’s blue
Into barrio, into you.
Give ourselves up to tomorrow
Witness world upon our bellies
Look into shadows of might-be
Letting go of life’s organized tour.”

The art we’ve lost and need: looking up and down and all around, seeing the sky we can’t Skype, and the tile-patterns that transcend any tweet. Beautifully shared.

Exactly — a world that needs to be lived for it to come alive. Thank you for enjoying in it with me.
