Mix the black and nyght with fireflyghts
starwrite the sky with light glowings
tumbledrum paint an awening bright
hum and dance a bumble-blueing.
Fireflyght, light-swish song switch it on
electrick imagiknation
wonder where wires whirly-hook
dirk a dragenlight darken shun
raven’s eyes circle neon looks.

Poem drafted and submitted as part of my participation of “National Poetry Writing Month – 2017” (#NaPoWriMo2017). Today’s poetry prompt: write a poem that incorporates neologisms. What’s that? Well, it’s a made-up word! Your neologisms could be portmanteaus (basically, a word made from combining two existing words, like “motel” coming from “motor” and “hotel”) or they could be words invented entirely for their sound.
