If you could read my mind
would you say yes?
If I tipped the barista at the bar
would you know my character?
If I opened the button of my collar
would your eyes brighten in a smile?
If I spoke my body in word
would you melt with my eloquence?
If I took an ice chip into my mouth
would your pulse race to meet my breath?
If I swept away the broken glass
would you lean into my holding arm?
If I swept my lips with a feather stumbled on
would your kiss be delivered with its flight?
If I If I hummed a love-song in my memory
would you remember our first dance?
If I brought you a cannoli dusted white
would you share with me a bite?
If I cast a shadow upon the light
would yours entwine with mine there?
If I bent my heart upon a knee
would your sweeping branches take me?
If I closed my eyes on this moment
would you join me in a dream?
If I crossed a coffee house floor
stood in front of a chair
put a hand soft upon its back
would you look up at me?
If you could read my mind
would you say yes?
