Her kiss was sweet
upon my breath
gliding me into
the forever of her lips
Her barbs pungent
purple blisters
unintentioned welts
upon my heart
A spaghetti stain
a noodle dropped
a meatball gobbled
a tender leaf I didn’t share
A flavour complete
Thai soup that blooms
Caprese salad
Margherita I would marry
I cannot separate
cannot divide
sweet from pungent
my love and hate
Our fingers fondle
intertwine in a flower
together rising perfume
that sweetens Sundays
married in our garden.
