A thirsty sun
Sucks the day’s wetness
Through straws
Slurping the last drops
Sweaty fountain drinks
Heat waves
Crashing against earth
Harden the world’s skin
The cool dusk dawns
Embraces suffocating
August air
Lies in state
Wet foreplay
Replaced
By the wholeness of moonlight
A canopy of Saran Wrap
Overstretching
Captures
Convections sleep
Rhythmic moist breaths
Exhale
Into a lark’s song
Revelry
Morning breeze
Loosens sparkles
Upon a morning walk
Dew
Drops
From an emerald sky.
