I.
Upon the moonlight
silver rhythms are sliced
from the quiet
an iambic foot
carried over
a threshold, still.
II.
A dog barks
echoes approach
halls reverberating
an Amazon
a COVID package
delivered.
III.
Thump, bump, kerplump
broken
fallen to earth
A stranger
interrupts the serenity
nature beheld.
IV.
An old friend
a dusty memory
stands
Youth lost
beneath adult pursuits
estranged.
V.
You open
eyes to the light
different
Seeing
piecing together
each moment.

Today’s prompt: Day Eighteen: “Here is today’s prompt…. It’s based on Faisal Mohyuddin’s poem “Five Answers to the Same Question.” Today, I’d like to challenge you to write your own poem that provides five answers to the same question – without ever specifically identifying the question that is being answered.”
