Fireworks over Niagara Falls

Fire … in the night. It defines our species.

Regardless of what advances we make in genetics or semi-conductor research or even particle physics, there is no better guarantee of drawing thousands or even hundreds of thousands of people outdoors, at night, than the promise of fireworks. (Sorry Higgs Boson — you’re not a spectator event … yet).

And, yes, a tripod and a steady ledge (albeit a suspended viewing platform) provides a more conventional “success.” For those that want to see what happened a few nights before from my hotel balcony, view my previously posted “botched” fireworks gallery.
