Door to the World

So many photographers, myself included, are fascinated with doors. Doors are expressions of culture. Architectural flourishes, they are among the final touches on a building, the architectural equivalent of the cover of a book, and many will consider them carefully as expressions of what might lie within. Doors are symbolic, like walls (previously described), as they can both provide access or bar entrance: they can be barriers or invitations. If you can judge a man by his shoes, you can certainly judge a building and the owner by its door. But what do you judge by a door in a field of daisies that goes nowhere?
