Gravity’s Pull …

Gravity Ice_2 Silver sunlight frozen in a teardrop
Heaven reaches for Earth’s snowy chest
A treasure of crystal caught in gravity’s pull.

I totally agree. They are the transformative parts of the ice and photo. A surprising detail. Thank you.

I love these photos in ice – the beautiful, unique culmination of a whole process. We (humans) forget about all that nature requires to create these natural gifts that seem like simple, ever-present objects, but they are not. I could stare and stare at these.

I have become increasingly in love with the perspective of life and the world through a macro lens … much like I love the work of Burtynsky who creates perspective by taking huge pictures from soaring heights. Our human stereoscopic vision traps us at a distance from our world and we forget or simply don’t see the transcendent beauty in its finest details. Like you, I could have stared at these frozen droplets of water, simple in the form, complex in their formation, for hours as they captured the sun and the sunlight ignited their beauty.
