There are few colours that capture the human condition’s imagination quite like blue. The colour of the sky, it is heaven where it lands upon the eye. Sapphire in a kiss, the Mediterranean waters I always miss. Yet blue is a colour that Mother nature reserves for few and rare it is to discover it in perfect bloom. Spied in my Father’s garden last summer, this tiny flower (called “nigella”) yearned vividly from the thorny tendrils which cradled it for the sun. It seems so dearly appropriate that the flower is called “love in the mist” … what a perfect way to describe the love I have found in the mist of my life.
