I stand upon a shield – worn – hard
My Canadian skin – pink – alive
Lying beneath the sun – radiating – warm
Picnics countertop – shining – smoothed
By glacial time – frozen – cracked
Fissures map the mantle – quartz – mirrors
Catching autumn light – colours – captive
Rose rock rolls down hills – flowing – feeding
Lichen licking the veins – minerals – mined
Painted murals stretching – watching – waiting
Standing upon my home – permanent –changing.

Lovely capture of the bright powdery green colour

Thank you for the kind comment, Lita. I did indeed find the colour of the lichen to be very cool as it spread out over the face of the rock.
