Within the hardness of my husk
Sheathed in winter’s ice
I hold a softness, compressed by life,
Dormant, but alive, I am seeds
Ready for spring to erupt
Safe within your gaze
Protected within your hands,
I’m vulnerable to all the world,
I am filled with optimism.
