Green is My Vice

March 28, 2017 by Dale 9 Comments

Frog upon a lily pad

Kiss me once and kiss me twice
I am a frog
Green is my vice.

Sitting low upon my throne
I am the Pond King
Behold — all that I own.

Water is my golden pleasure
Look into my eye
See all my treasure.

Crowned I am by a water flower
I stroll my palace of lily pads
Buoyed just by flipper power.

Kiss me once and kiss twice
But don’t expect a prince
Cause green is my paradise.

Thank you — I imagined my 6 year old son as I wrote the poem. We’ll see what he thinks, but I agree, he’ll likely love the pictures too. 🙂

Thank you … as the other tourists observed as I ‘played’ with the frog with my lens, s/he was definitely posing for the camera. Good fun indeed.

Your pictures are poems, and your poetry paints. The beauty revealed is not from what’s seen, or read, but from the pause to listen so as to see, and to see in order to listen.

Thank you, John. Your comments always leave me deeply moved and humbled to hear that my words/photos cause anyone to pause, reflect, see or just smile. Genuinely, thank you. 🙂
