My love is composed
Upon a limestone canvas
Worn white with history’s chisel
Her mystery emerges
Through a faithful portal past
Shadowed oak lacquered black
The solidity of her stance
A palette knifed upon her dress
Smoothed soft upon her breast
Brush strokes feathered fine
With an afternoon’s warm shine
Breaching bright background walls
Reaching through a gate of gold
A painter’s oath, a lover’s troth
Her gaze a crack of shadowed veil.
