Floating Dragon

April 16, 2015 by Dale 6 Comments

Floating DragonMy heart is a dragon afloat
An open mouth of violet
Tender lips on a pool of glass
Heaven in an azure mirror
A tongue of gold spins
The love of my soul
Silken threads protect
Project long quills as teeth
Submitted to life’s current
Pressed against satin scales
I am a wild snap dragon
A picture of power — caught —
More fragile than a lover’s faith
A dragon that cannot fight
Afloat without a bite.

Our fragile, vulnerable hearts and souls, opened up create uncomparable intimacy. Radiant, revelatory, relatable, Dale. Thank you for sharing. 🙂

Thank you Jessica. Exactly. It is the play between the fragility and vulnerability of the “wild snap dragon” with the more protective, powerful, public facing phantasmic “dragon.” As you say, it is the act of revealing the snap dragon inside each of us that opens up the chance for incomparable intimacy … a scary process in its own right. 🙂
