Our World’s Slow Change

September 27, 2015 by Dale 13 Comments

Leaf Change2

We walk the trails side by side
Smell the moisture slip from leaves
Our love grows strong hand in hand.

Leaf Change4

The light dips behind the trees
A steely equinox catches the sun
Turns the season upon the earth.

Leaf Change5
Veins pull  blood from extremities
Suck it back into the trunks
Life girds itself for winter’s bite.

Leaf Change8

Colours burn through the skin
Streak the verdure with a brush
Crimson, vermilion, fuchsia burst.

Forest Change
Insects, nature, eat with thirst
Harvest the cycle to begin anew
Captured, an instant, our world’s slow change.

Leaf Fishbone

We went on our hike to see the colours in full change. I’m sure they are now but on that day we were clearly early. Our initial reaction was disappointment but I soon realized that there was an intense beauty to behold in the sparseness of the colour changing. Moments of intensity instead. Vivid indeed. Thank you.

ps: the texture of the first leaf reminds me a bit of elephant skin!

These are so stunning and sharp. You always find such diamonds in the rough, and capture them perfectly with your lens….and memories to behold forever. xo

Thank you, Mattie. Seeing the leaves in mid-transition was a bit like walking in someone while they are dressing. Felt like I should have said ‘Ooops’ and excused myself.

Indeed and thank you — there is beauty in the smallest crevices and details of life … if only we get close enough to see them. Nice series yourself. Thanks again.
