honour honour
from a sadness drowned
the fortune’s choice
drink drink
of redemption’s tears
the shadow’s light
hold hold
onto the spindle’s prick
the satin drape
cherish cherish
of wishes cast
the cloven past
gaze gaze
into a future dark
the crystal bright
take take
with bones bleached life
the hope chest filled
kiss kiss
out lies knotted white
the promise ringed red.
