Rise Once Again

I.

Birth bountiful beauty – rise once again
lift death from desiccated innocence

II.

Purple pastel petals – rise once again
peel perfect light, a luminescent life

III.

Poems in passion ink – rise once again
love letters crumpled in a perfume box

IV.

Wish I might, pray I will – rise once again
release whispered blessings into blue

V.

Feathers fly into sun – rise once again
faith is mounted upon dogma’s door

VI.

Sorrows swords cut the sky – rise once again
shades of bokeh tears cleanse the years away.

VII.

Crushed Celtic knot – rise once again
fertile promise pressed peaceful in a Dāle.

Poem and photo series are dually submitted as part this Week’s Photo Challenge: (a macro) Surprise and as part of my continued writing towards “National Poetry Writing Month – 2017” (#NaPoWriMo2017).  Today’s poetry prompt: write a ‘ghazal’ … a poetic form with rhyming couplets and a refrain, each line sharing the same meter. A ghazal may be understood as an expression of both the pain of loss or separation and the beauty of love in spite of that pain. Happy Easter to all.
